Mobica worked with a leading TV tech business to develop a next-gen broadcast system
Challenge
A leader in the manufacturing of high-performance hardware and software for the television broadcast industry, wanted to develop a next-generation media broadcast system based on cloud-based infrastructure.
However, a lack of engineering bandwidth - coupled with limited expertise with Microsoft Azure - meant they needed to partner with an external supplier who could deliver at speed.
Solution
Mobica was selected for the project primarily due to our deep knowledge of Azure. Four teams were deployed to work with the customer over the lifecycle of the project. Initial work focussed on continuous integration, automated testing and defect-fixing of existing functionality within the platform.
The next phase of the project included the design and development of an XML-based schedule and content management API, that would allow traffic providers to automatically upload and edit schedules and register content. The teams also worked on designing and developing a security system to allow access via X509 certificates or web-based single sign on using third party identity providers.
Result
The project was so successful that the solution won a highly regarded industry award. The architecture support provided by Mobica proved to be an invaluable asset to the client, and significantly reduced the time-to-market for new products.
